Let them eat cake.
So Sam and I have moved into my grandmas house temporarily to figure out where to go next. Buy a house? Keep renting? Buy more cats and hats?
I'm partial to the latter.
My grandmas house is of course very grandma-y, with pink walls and pictures of roses galore. We have the basement to ourselves, and I promise to have a tour of it soon! Mostly because I have an entire room for my clothes, which I have already gotten used to. No going back to a closet now....
I hope to be completely unpacked and settled soon so I can get back to blogging regularly!
Meanwhile, there's a picture of a cake I made.
...yep...

Good luck deciding what you want to do for the future and maybe use this time to save a LOT so you can buy a home with 2 extra rooms for clothes!?!
I love the doily-esque table cloth! Perfectly appropriate for springtime!
I like the way you think Des.
a whole room for clothes! people are shocked by my full wardrobe, but I could definitely go for an entire room. yummy cake, I haven't baked in ages! I miss it so.
Good Luck making that decision and for now enjoy your room of clothes.
Oh, so exited to see it! :) Seems lovely!! hugs

So pretty! If you're really financially able I highly recommend getting a house. It is so satisfying to have a home of your own and to be able to paint and accidentally break without worrying about upsetting anyone. In the meantime how about visiting a couple of open homes? Daydreaming is good motivation for saving.
An entire room for clothes? Sounds like a dream come true. I´m looking forward to see it!
I vote for more cats! ;) Best of luck finding a new place.
Its so funny, my husband and I are going through the same thing. But Ultimately if you can get a house, do so. I'm starting to garden and I really want to decorate my own space. If you get a house then that will be a great excuse for you to do some interior design post!
I agree with Art Deco Dame: stay put for a while if you can and stockpile money for a gorgeous vintage pin house with lots and lots of closets and lots and lots more vintage to go in the closets (my bf and I are sort of in a similar position of needing a stop gap place before we decide our next move, except we're moving into a house owned by his 'rents...and there won't be any cake. Boo).
Best of luck to you, whatever you decide next.
Good luck with all your decision making! That's so nice...an entire room for clothes. My husband promises I'll have that when we get a house in the future, we'll see :)
xo,
Em
We have a whole room in our house for clothes & shoes of course, you can't beat it, I'm not sure we could ever do without it!
I'm glad you're settling in. It does you good to have somewhere to step away and consider your future, at probably double your age I find myself needing a bit of that at the moment, in a good way though!
You're so lucky! I would have loved to live with my Grama, even for a little while. I lost both my Grama's a few years ago. Cherish her!! Grama's are just the best!
Great job Solanah!! wonderful looking cake! can i have a piece?
with laughter,
Beth
Stephen and I are trying to figure out if we want to buy a house too. I would love a cottage!
that cake looks delicious! I can't wait to see your new place!
This looks so delicious! Reminds me of coconut-topped cakes in a nearby bakery here.
