This weekend was my Sister in law Amys birthday, and we celebrated by gathering family and friends at The Rhinelander, a German restaurant with singing waitresses and an accordion player.
I wore my Lanz dirndl, isn't it cute? Perfect spring dress.

You look adorable. I love Lanz dresses. They have the cutest prints and loveliest skirts.
Looks like a fun birthday was had. :)
My family loves Rhinelander! Every time we all find ourselves in Portland we always make a stop. Best fondue on the planet! Love your dirndl and crown! Perfect for the setting!
i've always wanted a dirndl dress, and a lanz, what a darling!
that little headband-hat is perfect!
You look so cute! I love this dress. :) The print is so perfect for spring. Glad to see you had fun with the fam. :)

You look great! Ich really like the combination of Dirndl and this cute headthing.
But I do think that Disneyland is the better comparison then Germany is. Cause I live in the Rheinland, which is an area in the west of Germany. Dirndls are not typical for us. They are even more popular in Bavaria, which is an area in the South. ;-)
You look amazing in that dirndl but as a person who actually lives in the Rhineland let me tell you that dirndls aren't and have never been worn here but only in Bavaria but it seems that most people associate bavarian things with Germany so that's okay =D
You are so beautyfull!
I´m a german "girl" an this dress is from a county in germany named "Bayern". In the other countys they don´t wear this. But you look so sweet in it ♥
Greetings from Elke
That bottom picture. Oh my gosh, you're so pretty. <3
I love this outfit!! It's adorable :D
Ok, they already told you :-) It is funny to think of the Rhineland as a place where you drink Bavarian Paulaner beer and wear Austrian Dirndls - no Rhenanian waitress would be seen dead in such a dress. I am rather curious what is on the Menu in said "The Rhinelander"? Because I don't think that the typical Rhenanian meals would find a lot of fans around the world: Halve Hahn, Himmel un Ääd, Suurebrode, Prumetart - except for the Rievkoche ;-) Have fun googling for them ;-)
But on the other hand: American food is strongly connected to Mc Donald's - over here, that is.;-D
You gotta give some cleavage to that dirndl, girl! That's the whole point! ;)
Botin in der Früh´, Thanks for passing along the info about what county the style comes from! I was quite excited to find this particular brand as it's such high quality. Though I think Lanz originates from Austria, so it might be modeled after that style. Not that I know the difference, these are really hard to find here! One of these days I'll make an apron to match, it feels just a bit incomplete :)
Oh! You look just darling. I just love your fruit headband. Everything looks just perfect.
XOXO
You really suit that look, so cute and I love the headband!
Just when I think you cannot get anymore awesome... You are a vintage fashion force to be reckoned with. You knowledge and styling skills blow me away.

OH! I LOVE! If you could send me life size photocopies of your whole outfit I'd stick them to me with glue.
Looking gorgeous as always. xxx
What a pretty place, and pretty you! :)
Wow you look amazing! I love your whole outfit and the headband just finishes it off! Hope you had a lovely time! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.co.uk/
So pretty! I've wanted a dirndl for ages, and even have a pattern, but haven't gotten to it yet... :/ lol. I really like how you paired it with the lacy blouse and fruit headband--cute! :)
Aaah, you look perfect and so cute!! Definitely (folk) german-like.
Life is a romantic poem
You should come to München (I live there), dirndls are super popular :) Also, when you buy an apron, tie the knot on your right because you're married :) Knot on the left indicates "being single" :)
Happy Birthday to your sister in law and I love your hair piece!
Wow, solanah, great ensamble! I love the way you can create the cutest outfits... dont mind me but yeah, the thought of you as a waitress is, um... strange (LOL)
Beth
So pretty! I love the combination of the dress with the sweater underneath. Lovely.
so so perfect!! I love that you dress to match the theme of the restaurant. Such fun!
You look adorable! I love the dress' print and the socks with the heels!
Next stop: Oktoberfest!
Last year I wore a dirndl to an Oktoberfest celebration, and wouldn't you know it was exactly the same style as the waitresses'. That made for a fun night.
I love the way you see 'getting dressed' as a chance to have fun. :o)
I live in the area and LOVE that place!
Excellent blog, by the way. My wife and I are about 15 years older than you and your husband. We got in on the swing craze during the 1990's and attended big band dances in Salem. I wish it had stuck.
love it!!! Looks like a fun place. and I love that headband. Must try to make something like that. This post reminds me I haven't worn my dirndl in a while : )
Lovely! Sounds like a ton of fun! Though I've never been to Portland, I have a friend who works there as a strolling accordionist. :D
So adorable! I love how there are two rows of stitching among the shirring on the dirndl, it's a great way to keep the fullness reigned in at the waist while leaving lots of fullness at the hem. And of course, the headband is perfect.

Soooo cute! Love this outfit.

Lovely smile! ;)
If you can, pass by my blog someday! I'd be honored. :***

What a wonderfully sweet, fun look! I've been yearning for a vintage (or vintage looking) dirdle for years, but have yet to find the right one. Hopefully some day! :)
