We arrived in Folsom California last night, the historic district is really cute! A few antique shops, most of which are of course closed Mondays. I did find one antique mall, and what I found there was worth the whole trip:
I have been searching for these for years, they are near impossible to find. I think the mugs were always the first to break. I thought I couldn't get any happier, then I saw a little sign that said they're from an ice cream parlor.
Shut. up.
So now I have perfect little ice cream parlor mugs to go with my other diner dishes.
Half the way down here was oddly foggy, and creepy, it was great. We saw lots of birdies flying south for winter, but once in California it became magically sunny and bright as ever.
I love your suitcases to death. They're looking so colourful and nice. I'm remembering the photo where you're sitting on one of them. It was so pretty. Are they available today or are they vintage? Hugs from Miss Maple
I have some of those dishes! I love them to bits. I tend to use the coffee cups to corral jewelery on my dresser though. They're safer there than they would be when put in the cupboard for daily use. :)
I'm SO in love with your suitcases!!!!! They are so cute! And those new cups.....gorgeous! I remember my Non had ones similar to that....so pretty :) Glad to see you back ;) Hugs xxoo
How funny you went to Folsom, my husband and I grew up there and just moved away (military family now!), in fact our house is about a mile from sutter street. Small world!
So lucky to go to Sunny California!!!! Cannot wait for my next californian trip next march...I hate our rainy fall, can give you a bad mood for many days... Hope you will enjoy your trip!
Enjoy your trip in the foothills! You're very close to me too. Not sure when you're heading back up north, but the semi-annual Auburn Antique Fair is this Sunday, 10/21. I'm sure you'd love it, if it fits in your schedule. I never miss it :)

Darn I love your luggage! Great find re: those mugs!
I have family in Folsom so I go rather often, but I've never been to the historic district! I don't know what's wrong with me, I must go soon!

Three cheers on finding that charming mug! There are few feelings more pleasant that (finally!) encountering one of your vintage holy grails.
Here's hoping the rest of your trip is every bit as marvelous as that find!
