2nd Annual Fur and Feathers Luncheon
Longtime readers might remember last years Fur and Feathers luncheon, but this year I forced everyone to pose for pictures!
We all live pretty spread out around Portland, or the Portland area, so we're trying to get together once a month for a themed event, and I meet new people every time.
We had lunch and cocktails in the beautiful Hubers, and did a little shopping afterward. I tagged along with a few gals (and guy) to some music and dancing that evening, even danced once!
Sorry Jesse, I'll practice...
In attendance were: Janey of Atomic Redhead, Julie of Fab Gabs Vintage, Sarah of Stutterin' Mama's Vintage, Jennifer of Jumbleaya, and Sara of Lillies & Remains.
We had a marvelous time, and received nothing but a positive attitude towards our vintage clothing and vintage furs. (Please keep that same attitude in the comments. Any negativity will be deleted before it hits the page, this is not a forum for debate).
I feel very lucky to know so many accomplished ladies, who share a love of vintage. Can't wait to see them again!

Wowowow! So many incredible outfits! All the lush fur is mking me wish it was winter in Australia :(
And your hat is divine, perfect details xx
WOW! The gent and his super fantastic coat. He reminds me of the big man on campus made popular 1919-1929.
Seriously more men should dress vintage. I once in a while see men around my area dressing vintage. I want to tell these handsome gents how much I admire their vintage style a with out sounding like I'm flirting with him. So what I do instead is I just smile, look and hope he noticed me too, since I dress vintage everyday.
One day I was waiting for a bus, a man who was not wearing vintage called me a throw back. He admired the coat I was wearing. That made me evening.
@MissNatalieVintage, I'm going to make sure Jesse sees your comment... he went BMOC all the way, there's a 1920s Spalding football sweater under his racoon coat. (Which I bought him for Christmas, because I am awesome!)Also, I want to encourage you to compliment the men who wear vintage - just walk right up to them and tell them to keep up the good work. I don't think too many would take it as a come on, and you might just make their day!
beautiful post... It's like I am transported to a different era on your blog..

I'm glad you documented everyone's outfits, I loved seeing how everyone interpreted the theme of "fur & feathers". There's a large vintage community here in Chicago but outside of flea markets we don't really have any events/meetups. You're definitely inspiring me to attempt to coordinate one soon.
Wow! You all really glammed it up. You must have turned a lot of heads at your luncheon.
That peacock feather skirt is jaw droppingly gorgeous! Seriously, I'm swooning! I love your outfit as well, so classy and chic. :)
Wow! I am astonished at the beauty in these photos! I wish I could drum up something like a luncheon such as this where I live. How fun that would be. I particularly love the dark green dress with the leopard collar as well as the big hat made of white feathers! Stunning.
Great photos!! Looks like you all had a fantastic time!
And to think I was wearing a beautiful fur waiting for a bus mere blocks away from you lovely ladies on my way to work. I had no idea! Too bad...
Gorgeous, every single outfit. Love Jesse's outfit, its great to see a guy looking so spiffy. x Fran
You all look fantastic! You must look the bees knees every time you go out together as a group.
The guy's fur is amazing (and quirky outfit with the boater :)). I like some of the foxes too, but I'm not big on monkey hair (just a personal preference). I own a couple of fur collars, a two fox stole with head and feet, and a recently acquired a 50's three quarter length coat which I think is shaved & dyed rabbit. I intended to wear the coat just yesterday but in the end it wasn't cold enough - I have to say though I feel rather stressed out at the reactions I could get. I live in a very back water place and use the public transport. I get very weird looks just for wearing hats. I have never worn my heads and tails stole for this reason although it's been in my wardrobe for about 4 years now. Mind you, this would need more of a special occasion anyway. I am determined though to get my coat out, and as we expect some colder days here I really want to wear it. My husband keeps teasing me about having sandwiches thrown at me :). Why sandwiches I don't know, but judging by some residue on certain areas of the coat, it could have been through some wars before...
You all look wonderful :)
Apart from you looking amazing that dude is so cool! Full fur for men intense. I once considered one going cheap on eBay but its such a strong move that I'm still very tentative. Wonderful event, just like last years, and beautiful photography as always!

What a marvelous idea! So glad you have pictures of everyone!

Simply divine and glamorous. To die for gorgeous I'd even say. I SO would have wanted to be there.... sigh... what a delight to see such well dressed people these days!
Y'all look grand. I won't lie and say the gent doesn't stand out (DANG), but that's down to gender and silhouette markers and not a suggestion of a poor show from the ladies!
What a super fun reason to get dressed up and go out with friends! I can't believe women back then actually wore an entire fox with the face and all! Crazy. I love that you got everyone to pose for photos! It's so fun seeing all the different looks!
Damn that guy looks spiffy! I love it! You all look absolutely gorgeous. I wish I owned some fur, but living here in Arizona I would have no use for it because its never cold. My grandma has a few that I just drool over.
You all look stunning and I soooo wish things like this happened in my area. I have never met a vintage lovers around here!
So many gorgeous outfits! I love all of them but my mind is blown a little bit by that amazing sequined feather print circle skirt. WHOA.
Solannah so pretty! I always love your photos and these are fantastic!
What a beautiful lovely ladies! Amazing fur and adorable looks. Wish I could be there as well. Thank you for sharing, Solanah :)
OMG! I literally gasped when I scrolled to the gentleman! These look amazing... and it makes me wonder why there isn't something like this around where I live.
I remember that post! What a fantastic vintage bunch you are! I love the ideaaaa! I'm organising a vintage meetup here in Sydney - maybe one day we'll pay homage to your Fur and Feathers theme and do it Sydney-style!

I have some Minks with heads, feet, and tails on them that were given to me from the 40s or 50s from the original owner. I wish I knew people like these who might want to actually buy and wear them. That's awesome to see a guy in a full fur coat! how rare! Love these!

What gorgeous pictures! That peacock skirt has completely taken my breath away!
What a fun get-together. The outfits are great. I love that peacock skirt(dress?). Thanks for all the pics.
I love the white feather hat and the little spotty fur collar. Understated additions!
The elegance factor here is way, way over the moon. Oh, dear Solanah (and friends), how incredibly stylish, glamorous, and gorgeous you look!!!
♥ Jessica
You all look fabulous! Such great outfits x
Some absulutely fabulous outfits here! Amazing! That peacock skirt is beautiful. Some very quirky furs there too! This looks like so much fun!
Victoria: Put them up on Etsy and I'm sure someone will buy and wear them - I have bought several pieces of vintage fur there myself :)
Solanah: You look adorable as always! I so want a coat like that myself. The monkey fur coat was amazing (and that hat! *flail*) and that cute green outfit with the fur collar? Swoon!
I also have a soft spot for stoles with head and legs intact (have two myself). The girl in the last picture was so stylish!
And don't get me started on your male company - gorgeous! I totally agree with MissNathalieVintage; more men _should_ dress vintage - how can they not see how awesome it looks?
You're all so gorgeous ! I'll love to come... Unfortunately, France is too much far away haha ! And in south France, I don't know a lot of people wearing vintage. I would love to organize a date !
I gladly admitter it - i love fur! :)
