These image are from one of my favorite books, "Clothes with Character".
The book is full of self improvement tips, mostly about dressing, and has delightful illustrations sprinkled throughout. Here are some of my favorites, I just love this kind of thing. Especially helpful if you want to recreate this era in your wardrobe, but are not sure what might flatter you.

This book has been on "hope to find" list for ages, though it has probably been a few months since I last went bargain hunting for a copy. Thank you for the reminder, I'll have to try harder to track down a copy in 2013.
I love the color chart especially. I have a few great vintage fashion books too. Even if you don't wear vintage daily, there's a lot of excellent advice to use in a modern wardrobe as well! x
So funny! I have a pointed face and no chin and my husband was telling me the other day how he hasn't really liked my bangs parted in the middle as I've been doing lately (and did as a teen) and he noticed that a couple days ago I put it back to parted at the side and that he liked that better (as I've always liked). It is funny because these pictures agree! hahahahaha. I laughed at the dos and don'ts of what to wear too. I don't really see much difference between either for the tall slender girl, but oh well!
