Hello deco

 photo Apr1920012_zps30f05e23.jpg

Typical northwest spring, the weather is all over the place. When I took these pictures it was that calm before the storm, when the clouds are dark and the birds are silent. But it's still a bit warm and breezy. As I left the sun came out, and stayed for a while!

Now that my hair is short again I can wear deco styles a little easier. I wanted to mention that I grew out and cut my hair for Locks of Love. You can donate your hair to this non-profit and that contributes to hairpieces for children who have lost their own hair due to illness such as alopecia or cancer. I have healthy hair that I don't artificially treat in any way, so it seemed silly not to. And I'll probably start the process all over again, grow it out, cut it, grow it out, cut it...

You look absolutely fabulous! Something about Spring/Summer screams deco clothes time to me - perhaps bc the cottons are so perfect (your dress!!!), or maybe just because all my 20s-early 30s stuff is lightweight? Regardless, this post is oh-so-inspiring. Thanks lady:)

I've been pondering doing a similar deal. I don't dye and I have thick hair so it makes sense. Cute dress :)

I love those colours! The bobbed hair looks great on you, I look forward to seeing how you'll style it with different decade-inspired outfits

Do you still pin curl your hair with it short? I'd like to try it with my short hair, but I'm not sure it would do right.

Houndstooth meets plaid--what a lovely fabric pattern!

I love the dress - the pattern is simply wonderful. And I love the idea of growing your hair out long and then chopping it short for charity - I always find it much more fun to have a dramatic change anyway, rather than gradually trimming back!

I think you suit your hair either way - and this way you get to help children knowing that your own hair will grow back - very Jo in Little Women!

The weather's nuts over here in the UK today we got the first day where we had some sunshine, but by 3pm it was back to its usual rain and cold winds :/

Ah well, it makes us more willing to experiment wardrobe-wise!

Gorgeous hat btw x

Venturing further north along the Pacific coast into my wee corner of British Columbia, the weather is completely all over the place, too. We went from stunning sunshine and +25C on Easter Sunday to freezing and a whisper of snow yesterday. That's spring on this side of the world for you, eh?!

Love everything about this shoot, from the age-worn peeling paint on the stairs to your charmingly marvelous ensemble.

Ohhhh I love your flapper bob so much! I can't wait to see all of the fun you'll have doing 20s looks. Such beautiful photos, they look like something out of a silent film.

This may be one of my favorite outfits of yours, and I really love the photography as well!

I adore that hat, and that lighting (especially in the first photo) is beautifully surreal.

You look wonderful, and it's awesome that you donated to Locks of Love! (I still regret not having done so when I cut mine at age 13. :-( )
Also, that hat is to die for!
