Flipping through some of my old catalogs and started to daydream. I'd wear these all summer long.

Wow! All of it was so (relatively) cheap! I've never seen shoes called Jeepers... Must look that up.
(Psst... 'Navajo Hipster' scandal alert! Haha.)

Yep, I NEED that top matching red outfit. What a dreamy summertime look! Also, the teepee skirt is unbelievable...truly amazing.

I was just telling a friend (the lovely Mary Van Note) that I can't look at my 1954 Sears catalog anymore because it makes me too sad. I want everything. I'm tempted to fill out the original order form (that is still inside) and send it off in hopes of magic......

this dirndl and the teepee skirt are the best, but the socks and playsuit will be very useful this summer :-)

Now I would so buy these if they were available. Amazing how cheap they used to be.

These are so great! I'm going to have to learn to sew. I want fluffy skirts and the materials that are out now are great!

It has no tags, but has the same folded over detail!

Can you please order two of everything and I'll pay you back for my set right away? :) If only, we really could still shop these kinds of fabulous vintage catalogs - and with the prices of the era to match. Love your fun selections - especially the ankle socks and that awesome novelty print skirt.

Those prices!! Amazing how much a dollar was worth back then! Sad, when you think about it.
Yes! Learning to sew is a magic step toward the wardrobe of your dreams. Or you can find a creative seamstress and pay her for her years of expertise.
I've made headway into the tricky art of sewing my own brassieres, out of cotton fabrics. They're actually quite similar to the one pictured; and that is fun to see!
Thanks for sharing, Solana!

That last skirt is something I HAVE TO HAVE!! I may need to recreate that Fabric in spoon flower and then sew it up as a circle skirt! Anyone else interested?

I have a love/hate relationship with old magazines and catalogs for this very reason.I love to look but I hate that I can't have it.

You know some of these pictures remind me of the clothes I sometimes buy from the ShopNational.Com and the VermontCountryStore.Com web site. Yes sir, my two most favorite web sites to shop from.
