Springtime start

Heeeyyy everyone. As you probably guessed I took a much needed and unofficial break from blogging (and vintage) but lately I've really been missing it, so here I am!

Just to satisfy any curiosity, nothing happened to spark it, but after 6+ years of blogging I just needed a break. I needed to clean out my wardrobe that had been culminating for ten years and start fresh, and it's been really nice to let go of things I don't wear anymore and give proper attention to the pieces I do. Yesterday this skirt got a bath for the first time in...probably 50 years (ew I know), and when I was ironing it I swear it seemed so happy to be clean and mended.

Spring has officially started here in the Northwest, so for those of you still in winter mode I hope you can bear my cotton dress posts without too much weather envy.

Thanks for sticking around dear readers!

A warm welcome back! This is such a fabulous casual vintage look ~ I adore the color palette of your skirt and top. I think I totally have to pin this look to try it out myself.

Your hair is super pretty too, I love the curls and color. ❤

Hooray!

Cory and I didn't intend to take a break either. But then it felt too awesome so we let the break continue. But now, I feel excited to take photographs again and write again.

Huzzah! Looking forward to the fruits of your return. There aren't enough quality vintage mavens out there. Loving this skirt and the anachronistic hair.

I adore that skirt! The print on it has me so inspired to try something similar with block printing over a large plaid fabric. Hmmm.....

I'm so glad you're back! (Though I can well understand a well-needed blogging break. I've been trying to get my blog off the ground since the beginning of the year, to no avail, and it's exhausting! So I can imagine having run a blog for 6+ years...a break is definitely in order.)

That blouse looks cozy. :)

Welcome back, sweet gal, it is nothing short of a joy to see a new blog post from you.

I get that (the need for a major breather/wardrobe revamping) big time. I madly, completely love vintage and vintage blogging, but at least once a year, I find my nerves taxed, my energy shot, and the desire for a break, be it a few days or longer, to be a must. It's only normal, really. Just as one can't work any job around the clock day in and day out with out some downtime, so too do us very hard working bloggers need to stop, regroup, chill, and focus on other things while we get our (blogging) mojo back sometimes, too.

I hope that yours sticks around for a long time to come for you and really look forward to seeing what you may share here with us this year.

Tons of hugs & happy start of springtime wishes,
♥ Jessica
