Inspired by: Lady adventurers

 photo 1_zps0a3f311f.jpg

I love seeing late 19th/early 20th century photos of women adventurers. I have a few photos somewhere around here of groups of hikers in the teens and twenties, where the women are sporting wool knickers and heavy sweaters or crisp white shirts and ties. It's my faaaaaaaaaavorite look ever.

When I went out to take pictures it was a little chilly so I grabbed my 30s riding jacket (actually maybe it's older?) and it seemed to work perfectly. My Sherlock and John cat buttons live on the lapel right now, they're the cutest.

This is really really cool outfit. The colours work really well together and I like the silhouette your shirt & pants make. I wish lots of women dressed like this still !

Rugged and feminine, and squarely beautiful - you ready to tackle any mountain in this ensemble, be it literal or figural, that you come across.

Love those pants! No one else could get away with this look but you, and the silhouette is super flattering.

Speaking of women adventurers, have you read the Amelia Peabody novels? You may enjoy them.

I'm afraid I can't talk about anything except that bee brooch which I am now obsessed with.

I saw a vintage dress with embroidered bees on it once. I think I need bees in my wardrobe.

I am so in love with this..I'm a horseback rider-Ahem, Equestrian, and a vintage lover. It's hard to find vintage outfits that I could actually ride and do stuff in, so now I want a pair of pants like that..and just the whole outfit. Especially those buttons. :O Sherlock and cats are my favorites...
