New seamed stockings.
Yesterday my mother and I went to the mall to find her some shoes. There were some pretty bad potato sack dresses there (you know the ones) but I did remember to look for seamed stockings at Nordstrom, thanks so a recommendation from Stocking Vixen when I asked her about seamed stockings under $10. I really like them even though they don't have the cuban heel, and the "seam" is actually stitching up the back. But they work work for me! Plus they were on sale for $8, and they stay up on their own, which is good because my garter belt is sadly lacking function. I want to go back and get another pair or two as long as they're on sale.
I originally went there looking for a new red lipstick, with no luck. My favorite right now is Chanel's "Red Velvet", which someone gave to me, but as it is $30 I was trying to search for a more affordable version. It seems as though it is $30 for a reason....
The dress is from FancyWork, and I got it for only $15! Not sure why it was so cheap, all it has is a little light mark I think will come out. But it looks so 1940s pin up I just had to get it.

Aah, I've been lusting after seamed stockings/tights! They look great. :]
Oh! Fancywork is the shop that has me wishing I had a magic lamp to have this dress in a non-skeletal size:

Seamed stockings are so great! I find garter belts too fussy for everyday wear so regular tights with 'seams' are perfect for me! I love your dress too.
Oh yeah, I was excited when I saw that listing, then sad when I saw I would not be able to get it over my head :(
Oh, like the black and red combo, but what does the dress look like from the front? My first pair of seamed stockings I found for 10 cents in a recycling shop. My luck hasn't been as good since though.
I'm loving those stockings. I was just thinking that I wanted to find a pair of them. Thanks for the heads up about Nordstrom!
this site has some cool FF seamed stockings... that look really authentic.
not so dark seams..
some are spendy bu my favorites are only $8.00 a pair!

Ooo, thanks Atomic Mama!
Love the stockings!
On the red lipstick: you can try with L' Absolu Rouge no. 132 by Lancome, I have a sample and it's truly a perfect red-red. It's still pricey, but a bit less of Chanel :-)
Grandpa told me that during the war, when stockings were very hard to come by, his sisters would draw a seem up the back of their leg to give the impression of a stocking.
I love that.
Don't try it in black.
I also like the little sheer polka dot top you have on underneath the dress. Congrats on your shopping find. It's always so great to find exactly what you've been looking for.
I have some amazing red lipstick recommendations if you get the chance to write me an email. ^.^

Ah seamed stockings! I am waiting for my pair to arrive. I love them! Apparently there are seamed tights but I don't know if that would be the same...
I just got a red lipstick from MAC (Russian Red) and I LOVE it – and I didn't expect it to be so good (I wasn't really a MAC girl).
Oh and I bought a dress from your Etsy, and it's great! I didn't know you had a blog :) I am going to link you!
Gorgeous - i'm in the process of buying some myself :) I love these shots of you too, simply beautiful!!
