So sorry I've haven't posted lately (ok, two days, but it feels longer), to tell you the truth I've used every spare minute to knit my sweater, and I have the back almost finished! It's very exciting, considering the last thing I knit was a scarf that took me almost two years. I thought my lack of interest in knitting was because it was too difficult, but I guess I just needed a more interesting project than row after row of the same thing.
I LOVE this color, you can purchase it here, it's Maple Syrup. The sweater will look a bit different than the pattern because I'm shortening it so it will sit at my waist, and skipping out on the embroidery. I still haven't picked out buttons, but some neat wooden ones are what I'm picturing, either that or bakelite.
Also pictured are my awesome knitting needles given to me years ago by a creative minded relative, and my knitting/sewing/embroidery bag bought a while ago at Monticello Antiques and it's the perfect size, not to mention it's pink with little ships on it.

What lovely knitting! My mam knits like her needles are on fire! I wish I could but i'm more of a sewer - can't wait to see it when it's finished!
aww i'm so glad you knit! i've been knitting squares in every colour under the sun over the summer for a patchwork blanket! Now starting on some little triangles for bunting out the house.
Those needles are truly amazing! i've never seen any like that! :)
Do you have a club or anything? We have one that meets every thursday at a little chocolate cafe!

Wow, it's looking really cute so far. I love that color as well. I have the same problem with knitting. I've never attempted anything with cables... maybe I should try.

how many buttons would you need? i don't have any wooden ones, but maybe i find enough of the same ones in my vast buttons collection (that includes two grandma contributions!!)

Somehow it seems everybody's knitting all of a sudden. Must be fall approaching =) I've just started knitting, but I hope to one day be able to knit something as gorgeous as your sweater. Wonderful pattern and colour. And I just love your knitting needles!

Oh wow, that sweater's looking beautiful. I think I'm the opposite when it comes to knitting . . . I like the easy sweaters with super repetivitive (and easy to remember) patterns so I can just drift off and not think. The tricky ones are worth it when you get great cables that come out like those, though.
Can't wait to see it finished!
