Wittnauer Champion roll 1
Last year Sams dad gave me a beautiful vintage camera, with it's original leather case, and I've been itching to use it. I know nothing about cameras though, so I was reluctant to jump right in, but a few weeks ago I researched the camera online (nothing much, it's a rare camera), and bought some new, 35 mm film. Sam tried to warn me the pictures "won't be great". But thats what I want!
I'm really happy with how they turned out, I was actually afraid they might turn out TOO good, with correct colors and no light leaks, but much to my surprise they are exactly what I was hoping for! I think my favorite part about them is the color, they all have that vintage feel, without photoshop! The lovely Lulu of Camera Bandit searched and found me the original manual for the camera (she's the bees knees), so next time I might actually get the settings how I want, but all in all, I say good first roll :)
First photo by Sam, taken in front of my work.
Second, third, and fourth by me, when Sam and I took a walk in the neighborhood.
Fifth by me, of my cousin Pearl in a 60s Juliet dress.
Sixth by me, of Julie and Lulu hanging pictures on the set of Fab Gabs
Last photo by my cousin Ruth, as we explored an abandoned WWII army hospital.

oooh.those pics are lovely. who needs perfect shots when they can look full of vintagy goodness like these:D charming
I love these pics! They have "that feeling"..and I know you know what I mean...like they came out of my grandma's photo albums. LOVE them! What a wonderful surprise!
Lovely! You're making me want to go back to film. Not for everything, but for some nifty old fashioned pictures.I sometimes play around with my pictures in Artweaver to make them look old, but the real thing is a hundred times better!
Really Cool, I love these. The one in front of Sons of Norway make me think of my Norwegian grandfather who never smoked a pipe, but always sat with his arms folded in that kind of a cross fashion.
Lulu IS the bees knees! These all came out beautifully, but that Sons of Norway photo really especially feels just like it was taken THEN, in EVER aspect - color, fuzziness, subject. You've got such an artistic eye!
If I didn't know what you looked like I would have thought these were vintage! Magnifique!!

those came out gorgeous, solanah!
I love these! This is inspiring me to take photos with my old camera from high school photography.Very cool!
I love the sixth picture! It has the perfect balance of old camera quirks.
wow I think these came out great; that's the advantage of analog over digital is that the lack of control provides for creative happenstance.
Your photos are lovely! I own a vintage photo camera, too. Mine is of soviet origin though, it's a Zenit-E from 1976. Ever since I found it in the attic I've been neglecting my Canon DSLR because film photography feels a lot more real somehow. But good luck with it and I also have a little warning: film photography is seriously addictive:D
wow, these photos look so retro. very cool. maybe you've found a new hobby.
That's so cool! Love how some of these came out!
I love how this camera can complete your vintage look by antiquing the photos the way they should be! All cameras should be like this, and now I am going to search for one for myself! I love how your pictures turned out! I am lucky enough to have some old photos of my own (from my grandparents) that I can enjoy - taken by a camera from that era! I would love to have pictures taken of me in my vintage clothing with a camera just like that.....
Wonderful photo's! It's almost like finding a time machine in a way!
I love all the photos...you are very talented. Is one of the girls expecting in photo six??
Thanks,
Jacqueline
I agree with the others in regard to the photographs - but I just had to add how beautiful the camera case itself is :)
Even if empty, it would be worthy of display in a place of prominence.
Wow, I LOOOOOVE these so much. It makes me so happy to see awesome analog photos popping up everywhere, these have such a great vibe too. What a cool camera!
The pictures are wonderful! you are so lucky to have that camera! my sister collects film cameras, and she would die if she had that. i agree that the ones you posted are vintagy without feeling too picknicky. love the post, and you!

What a great find! Looks like you'll be having a lot of fun with hat camera!
Wow! These are absolutely breathtaking... The fact that they aren't crystal clear and perfect makes them all the better, imho! I haven't shot anything with a film camera in ages; I really must dig out the couple I have and see what sort of film I need.

oh I love them! I have several vintage cameras but I haven't used any of them. I doubt they even make film for some of the ones that my grandfather gave me.
The Darling Homemaker, yes, I think she's in her 6th month :)
