So now I'm officially ready for fall. Seriously, tailored wools and hand knit cardigans (I am waiting for new yarn in the mail!) are constantly on my mind. This autumn craving was encouraged by a trip to Duchess Clothier, a specialty shop that deals in custom mens suits based on antique and vintage designs.
It was upon walking through the door that I wished I was a man.
But then I remembered how much I love red lipstick. Soooo....
I went with my brother, sister in law, and nephew, to the Duchess showroom to help my brother pick out fabrics and buttons and linings for a custom made victorian suit. Yes, my family is awesome. Sometimes I can't believe my luck for having them.
The staff was so helpful and relaxed, not stuffy or snobbish at all, which makes everything more enjoyable. And the range of fabrics they had to choose from! I was in heaven.
I can't wait to see how the suit turns out, there will of course be pictures!

Oh, how I wish I could lock my husband in that shop and not let him out until he was properly attired. He's built much like your Sam and would look fabulous in some of those suits. You think they'd sponsor some sort of local "What Not to Wear??" :)

We were thinking of getting a 'bespoke' suit done in Hong Kong actually, I believe the tailors are excellent there.

Oh my. My Grandpa would have loved to shop there...he was the man who went ashore (he was in the Navy) not to go to the bars, but to go to the tailor to get suits made! My Grandmother use to give him the stink eye everytime he came home because she just KNEW when he had been in Korea or Hong Kong, he has suits made :)
Off topic here: Does your handsome sidekick take your photos or do you use a tripod with a timer? I am having the darndest time figuring out how to take a pic of myself!

The drawers of suspenders and so cute! I keep meaning to paint a suspendered lad, but keep forgetting. maybe this image will keep it in my mind.
These shop is really very fantastic in these shop there are so many things which is really great. In these shop there are so many things which can looks very different and stylish then any other.

For photos of myself I usually use a tripod and camera timer, though sometimes friends and family take photos for me :)
