San Francisco!
Today we spent lots of time in San Francisco, starting out with estate sales!
They were worth going to just to see the interior of the amazing houses. One we went to was a dream, built in the 1930s, complete with a sun room in the middle of the house.
But the best sale was the first, we made out like bandits! I found a beautiful mink stole, some scarves, one of those hard case knitting carriers, and Paradise Kittnes, Kitten-ettes shoebox! I think I may have to start collecting these things.
Julie left with loads of great goodies, there was so much I can't quite remember all she bought. But of course you can see it sometime soon in her shop ;)
In between estate sales we lunched at The Cliff House, a stunning establishment which used to be a hot spot for celebrates, so old autographed headshots cover the walls. We had a beautiful view of the waves crashing on the beach and really enjoyed our lunch, my mushroom sandwich was very yummy. We did get stopped A LOT on our way into the restaurant, and inside, because of our outfits, it's funny what an impression vintage makes on people.
After that we hit Haight street, and browsed some vintage shops there. I found a stunning 1940s black rayon dress with the most amazing beaded flower I got to wear later that night, fits like a glove. In one shop we ran into a group of men and women from LA who wore vintage, and it was the first time in my life I felt underdressed. They all looked fabulous, and of course are in town for the same reason we are.
In the evening we went to Speisekammer and saw Lavay Smith perform while having a wonderful dinner.
Tomorrow, picnic! Though I probably won't do a proper post on that right afterward, I'll be tired, and want to do it justice!

I am just loving that outfit today! My mood tends to reflect my outfit choices. I have a mixed wardrobe of vintage/rock/casual/anything really. I just love how your outfits just purely say 'VINTAGE'. So inspirational!

Another fabulous-sounding day, and lots of cool finds. You've definately made me want to re-visit San Francisco. x
I just found your blog. It's amazing! So beautiful and inspiring!
San Francisco sounds like an amazing city. I'll have to put it on my "must visit" list. I love your dress and shoes! The pool pic is my favorite! -adorable-!! xoxo
It looks just as beautiful as I imagine it! I love that architechtural style – 1930s houses here are mostly pretty ugly – and am so jealous of your estate sale finds!
love that outfit! Especially the red cloves and matching hat and belt:D

amazing! i have a hard time believing someone upstaged you in the dressing department!
Okay how is it I've lived in SF all my life and I have not eaten at the Cliff House? Haha I absolutely have to go now, just because there are pictures of Joan Fontaine and Loretta Young hanging on the walls. Didn't mean to invade on your privacy but as I was scrolling down I noticed someone mention visiting Musee Mechanique, and I absolutely agree, you have to go there! It's right at Fisherman's Wharf, a little behind Boudin's! I think you'd really like it, it's a vintage penny arcade! Enjoy the rest of your stay in SF!
Oo my friend used to work in the shop across the street from La Rosa, so many fun hats and gloves!! Looks like it' summer weather time there too, oh I miss my city!
Looks like you're having an awesome time - love the photo of the girls at the bar. :)
Fun! I've been craving a California trip - hopefully soon. LOVE your polka dot dress; and don't worry you NEVER look under dressed, always super cute. Hope you have a fantastic time!
You hit all my favorite spots in San Francisco! The Cliff House is amazing. My grandfather told me that in the winter in the 1930s they used to freeze the water in the Sutro Baths and go ice skating. Too bad they are in ruins now :(
Last time I was there I bought one of the amazing "repro" shoes that La Rosa makes. Sounds like you are having a great time!
Love that bag in the last photo!
You got to see Lavay Smith! I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!! Shit. That's so awesome.
That blue dress is so adorable!! You do a GREAT job accessorizing! The red just makes the outfit sooo perfect!!
I love the fur! I want a vintage mink so bad!
we will be going to san francisco and will drive. I know that parking is very expensive. If we stay in like motel 6 or best western isnt parking free?

how long will you be in sf? if you'd be interested, i think it would be fun to meet up!
wow. so beautiful! polka dots just seem to be your specialty! That and your great smiling pose! bravo!!
Your outfit is vintage perfection!
I'm glad you are having so much fun in SF and as a local I have to mention that Polk street has many lovely little shops and one of them, Gypsy Rosalie's on Polk between Sutter and Fern is so much fun. It is a wig shop but also a great vintage place. A lot of places on Haight St. are just way too overpriced (at least for me and my wallet). Down the way is Bonesflowers( between Clay and Washington) which is a great little place too.
Also on Fillmore Street is Mrs. Dewson's Hats which for a hat-lover is like dying and going to heaven.
Délicieux petits croissants à la française ! Tu es trés belle en petits pois esprit marin...
Je peints des petites demoiselles à petits pois aussi...
Belle journée !
