Velvet cinch belt
I've seen old photos of these waist cinch belts that were smi-popular in the 1940s and 50s, but never came across one until yesterday. I am kind of in love with it.
I have some great fall things to wear it with, but it's still pretty warm over here! Well, warm enough so that cotton dresses are still required. I'll have to save up my wools for next month it seems.
For any Portland area residents (or visitors!), there's a great swing dancing night on Wednesdays at the Bossanova Ballroom, called Swing Time Speakeasy. There are lessons at 8 pm, and then dancing, and even a cabaret show! I will be there next week, and I highly recommend it for any dancers, or anyone that wants to learn, this week was my first lesson for Balboa swing! I need practice :/
Hope to see you there!

Amazing! It looks so great with that dress.
Best of luck with the dance lessons. I am looking for something similar in my city, my dance moves are limited to the Charleston...which isn't all that bad!

you look very pretty in this ensemble, and i love the belt too, unfortunately for me the wide belts don't work, although i have quite a long waist, i'm just to small for them.
I love your belt, it's so nice, and that dress is amazing!!

Ooh, it's lush :)
Really cute. Looks very Oktoberfesty, though :) Not that this is a bad thing...

Wow--what a great find! I have seen those in a lot of my late 40s magazines, and been secretly concocting plans to make one for years--how neat that you were actually able to find a vintage one! Love the entire outfit too! ;)

The belt is fantastic. It looks great with that dress too.
ERGH. I want to go swing dancing. Alas, I'm counting down the days until I turn 21.
That belt is fantastic! I'm that way with my obi belt. I got it handmade on eBay 4 years ago and it's wide and awesome and I can wear it with everything!

I actually really love that, besides being cool on it's own, the belt adds some edgyness and hardness to such a feminine dress (And lady)
