We did so much in such a short period of time, it's all starting to get jumbled in my head! So here's the last leg of our trip!
We made stop at Wall Drug, what a fun place!
I found a new bunny friend.
And while in South Dakota we stayed in The Rocket Motel, an amazing little mid century motel that's been restored to it's former glory.
The tiled bathrooms are amazing, stay there just for that reason alone!
Mt. Rushmore of course :)
And big fluffy buffalo!
We also stopped in Yellowstone National Park and saw Old Faithful, was pretty cool.
But my favorite thing were the prismatic springs. Amazing colors!
We also went in a cave, which was really beautiful.
And stopped in Deadwood, and had a refreshing drink at the site where Wild Bill was shot.
The cemetery in Deadwood was great, they had lots of western legends buried there.
And we also made a stop at The Battle of Little Big Horn site, where "Custer had his last stand."

And of course no roadtrip is complete without car trouble. The girls made flower crowns and spotted some deer, and we were back on the road in no time.
Home sweet home!

Soo true!
great shots!Love the dress that you're wearing in Mt. Rushmore
It sounds like your trip was simply wonderful! Maybe minus the car trouble ;). I've loved getting to see all the photos.

Yes! This post really made my day. I've been dreaming of driving off into the wild American states I've never been to. I want to stop at all the kitchy sites and of course do a little thrift shopping. You looked beautiful in all of your stops and I'm a little jealous of all the great things you got to see and experience. Really beautiful pictures!
XOXO
Just like your Uncle Mav you post a picture of hand painted signs. We have hundreds in our photo library.

Pleased to see such a wonderful time was had. Very inspiring, I've never done an American road trip but it's jumped to top of my list of places to see/things to do. Best wishes,
Emily
Wow! What an awesome trip--and what gorgeous pictures! You and your family are the cutest people in the world. You always seem to have so much fun.
Love this! Especially the picture of your family on the giant jackalope ( I have a jackalope tattoo!) So many wonderful things you got to see. My husband and I were talking about renting an RV and touring the US someday. This is great inspiration!
I love these pictures, especially the hugging rabbit! Love your blog, It's always awesome to see other Pacific NW bloggers!

Ooh you went to Deadwood? I've wanted to go there ever since watching the show!
Your trip looks like so much fun! I must get to all of these places (especially the giant jackalope)!
I've always dreamed of going on a proper American road trip! In New Zealand famous landmarks are limited to giant carrot and sheep statues, and barely any of the wonderful old signs and stores survived past the last century. All your photos have been just fabulous, and you and your family look gorgeous in every one. Your outfits are always so perfectly put together !

love the wacky-fun photos (especially the giant jackalope!)
All of these places you have been visiting have been so amazing!!! I love your yellow floral dress.
I really am enjoying these pictures from your trip. I feel like I am being taken on some Disney travelogue from the 50s. I imagine you in some silver travel trailer. Enjoy your style and the way you live your life very much. Have you got a sister I could meet?
I just got back from a Wagon Train Adventure/trip through Yellowstone! We got almost the exact same photo of the Prismatic Springs...I'm doing installment posts on my blog as well. Too bad we weren't there at the same time, although because of the wagon train bit I could only pack ugly ol' t-shirts and shorts and sneakers, no room for any of my retro stuff :( I had bought an amazing sequined western skirt just for my trip, but there just wasn't room!
LOVE 'wiggle when you walk, its good for you' and entirely agree with is sentiments!! Love your blog, stumbled on it by accident...has inspired me to start my own, thanks for a great read! http://quietbud.blogspot.com/ xx
Such incredible places & beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing! I keep jotting down more and more places on my "to visit on future road trip list." Oh & so many adorable dresses : )
