Deco Picnic

Photobucket

Here are snaps of the little art deco picnic Thursday afternoon, a lovely sendoff for the end of summer. It was held on the grounds of The Pittock Mansion, overlooking Portland and the surrounding scenery. Highly recommend if you visit! Or if you live here :)

It was so pleasant to meet some readers, and spend time with friends, with an abundance of picnic food and warm breezes. Everyone looked lovely, a few of the gals were decked out in gorgeous chiffon dresses, and the two boys who were outnumbered looked dapper as ever. Here's hoping we can do this next year, but with more notice this time, I promise!

Wow, it's absolutely amazing! The vintage outfits, the settings, etc... It could look like it's out of a movie set, yet it's very refreshing compared to "regular" fashion. It's the whole positive aspects of the old days that's revived here. Bring back the 30s! (and the 60s!). I love your wide-rimmed hat and the green cape!

I just discovered your blog but I'm very happy to! And I'm delighted to find out how many people are interested in vintage and take it seriously. It's just great! Let's just send a petition to Anna Wintour so she features it more in Vogue :) People want something unique, unattainable? The answer is vintage!

Love,
S

Seeing these photos reminds me I need to get a parasol this Spring! I have been meaning to buy for ages, but I'm being fussy & want a silk/fabric one! Also need some black maryjanes too ...

How dreamy! I just love the idea of hosting a costumed picnic like this--and what a lovely way to end the season too. :) Loving all the snippets of everyone's outfits--especially all those gorgeous, floaty 20s style dresses!

Makes me want to organize a vintage style picnic for the next spring but why not a cross eras... when the 70's will meet the 30's and the 50's, can be nice with all my friends' vintage cars!!! A good idea to steal!!!!
