A few weeks ago I got an email asking if I wanted some pieces of jewelry. Madeline, the owner, had these sitting in her jewel box, and wanted them to be worn and loved. Her Nana was throwing them out, but she saved them!
Thank you Madeline, I love them, especially the huge pendant, I feel like such a mammoth could easily be considered a weapon of some sort...
Have you ever saved something from the fate of the trash bin? Any dumpster divers out there? There's treasures to be found!
You are so right; there is no such thing as too much jewerly. I love the white beads and the golden necklace. Madeline is a doll for thinking of you :)
What a sweet present! It's great when things can be saved from the dumpster to continue being loved but by a new owner. I love giving things away, to give them a new home when it no longer feels like I'm using them. My grandma is an avid dumpster diver, and keeps finding treasures for her grandchildren. One time she even found a dress-dummy and gave it to me =)
My little sister walked out her front door and found the 1950s laminate top table of her dreams literally on her front door step. She had council hard rubbish collection in her neighborhood and a neighbor left it three steps from her front door. What a find!!!!! Princess Pin Curls
I rescued my Mom's, my aunt's, and my grandmother's jewelry from being donated to a thrift store! You're right--even though my family thought I was nuts, a girl can never have too much jewelry. . .love your new pieces! I know you'll put them to good use. . .
My grandma is a chronic throw-out-er and was going to bin what she thought was junk, and my aunty saved them thinking they were costume jewellery that I might like. When I examined them closer they were several pieces of sterling silver marcasite that my grandma had worn in her 20s, and a 4-piece 18ct gold cameo set. So thank god they were salvaged from- not even the thrift store- the rubbish!
My dad is always bringing home treasures that his clients would otherwise throw away. My favorite item was a Rafe for Target tote Probably why I love thrifting so much. Thanks for the interesting read Solanah!
There really is no such thing as too many jewels, beads, or babbles in my books, either. What a sweet, beautiful gift. These pieces are lovely, and I'm so excited to see the many wonderful ways you'll style them in future posts.
I'm glad you were able to save these fun treasures. When my mom, her brothers, and SILs were cleaning out my Grandmothers house, I hate to think some of the things that may have been discarded and not even put out for the tag sale. I was able to take her cracker crisper tin before the house was cleaned out. Her beautiful hand painted lamps weren't selling after 2 days of the tag sale and I'm so glad that I brought them home as they are perfect in my living room. I grabbed a great vintage BBQ tray out of the box destined for Goodwill. All of these treasures make me smile every day.
those pieces are awesome! i'm a jewellery designer and love costume jewellery, especially ones with bake lite! it looks like that to me from the photos!

I love the white necklace with the squarish beads, they almost look like marshmallows =)
