California, day 5 Coronado

This was my third time visiting The Hotel del Coronado, and it never ceases to amaze. It's very elegant, and you might recognize the setting from Some Like it Hot.
It was such a warm day I brought my swimsuit just in case I worked up the nerve to wear it (wearing it on the beach is so much more public than a hotel swimming pool!). I did get some crazy stares from a group of Japanese tourists, and while I was in my dress a few of them kept trying to take my picture standing like three feet in front of me. Seriously, just ask and thats fine, but I'm pretty sure they just got snapshots of me scowling.
I would love to stay there one day, it's so nice just to be in, stroll, sit on the decks. While there I felt like I was in a Miss Marple episode, specifically The Body in the Library. The whole time I was there, and on The Queen Mary, I kept thinking what amazing locations they would make for a murder mystery photoshoot. Yes these are the things that flow through my mind constantly, I blame it on all those years of only reading Nancy Drew.

Oh and we had to cross that bridge to get to and from Coronado island. It freaks me out every time.

1940s Swirl dress-Grandma got it at an estate sale.

Coronado is one of my favorite spots in San Diego! It is by far the best beach.

Did you happen to notice the suicide hotline number signs while crossing the bridge??

You are so beautifully vintage in both your swimsuit and that dress!
As for tourists taking pictures, I'm always curious as to how many pictures everyone ends up in unbeknownst to them (usually).

This little California series is really cheering me up! I've been reading it over breakfast here in the UK each morning (where the weather has been a bit grey recently). Lovely dress too.

My home town! Well, not Coronado (I wish!), but I did grow up going there and acting at the Hotel Del during Christmas!
Your lovely pictures warm my heart and make me excited to go home soon!
And you look fabulous in that swimsuit! Wear it and love it.
Plus, shout out to Miss Marple.

The Tourists probably loved your white skin. I love that building with the windows sticking out of the roof. It is so pretty!! That dress is quite lovely too! Beautiful! Yey for wearing one pieces.

I only crossed the Coronado Bridge once and I had a total panic attack! My husband was driving and I was so freaked out that I don't think I could even go across it again. I would have to be totally drugged out to get me over it. My last trip to SD we drove UNDER it so we could see the paintings :)

Isn't it funny how you can feel more exposed in a one-piece sometimes?
It looks adorable on you.
