During the fall, winter, and spring months, it is quite gray and rainy most of the time here in the Northwest. You'd think everyone would own a trench coat, rainboots, and above all, umbrella, but thats just not so. Hardly anyone uses umbrellas, in fact, locals say "A real northwesterner never uses an umbrella."
But then again most people here don't do their hair everyday, don't wear makeup, and certainly don't care if their ensemble get's rained on.
I however, do care. I have a lovely collection of umbrellas, a fabulous pair of rainboots, and now, what I feel is a staple in any rainy climate, a good trench coat.
But not just any trench, it's a Burberry trench!
When I spotted this in the Brown Bag Vintage Etsy shop, I knew I just had to have it. I'd see them every once in a while (not in Portland, usually California of all places), but they were always too big. This one was perfect, in excellent condition, and Michelle was a dream to buy from! I'm so happy to finally have one after years of wanting and looking, and of course, the quality is top notch.
Thats one item checked off my wardrobe wants list, now where is that New Look Dior suit I've been looking for?

Beautiful coat! Things like this never fit me because I still have the body of a 12-year-old. It's slightly depressing.
You have such wonderful taste. =]
You look so good girl!
Wonderful! I found my Burberry trench at a thriftstore about 10 years ago for only $15, it fit like a dream and it still had the extra button on tweed lining... I absolutely love my coat and it's no doubt my most practical and most used vintage item since we have very similar weather to yours here in Denmark:)
I have been looking for a decent trench coat for ages but I still haven't found one yet. The search will continue.
You look amazing in yours though. I am very jealous
How lovely! I agree with you-if I'm going to get all cute in the morning, I don't want to be rained on! Rainboots, trenches and umbrellas are, however, perfectly socially acceptable in my neck of the woods.
Ooh fabulous! I would love a Burberry trench, but that colour just looks awful on me. I need to find one in a deep rust red or something. Though I think I am more of an Aquascutum girl - less well known as Burberry over in the states, but the same quality and they are the brand used by the Royal family for their trenchcoats!

Gorgeous coat! Have to admit I have issues with umbrellas - they usually blow inside out and break as soon as I put them up - so Im usually stuck wearing my ugly parka in the rain! :)
It really suits you, you look gorgeous as always...Dee
I love this 'ensemble'! :)
And, I have also been looking for the prefect Burberry trench for some time now... still to no avail, but I'm not giving up!
What a wonderful coat!
BTB, I tagged you on my blog!

Spectacular find, nice job! And you always look so lovely in your photos, wear your rain boots and carry your umbrella as a proud badge of your good common sense!
I'm glad I'm not the only Northwesterner who thinks this way! There's no way I'm going to let the rain ruin my very nicely and meticulously done hair and carefully picked out clothes. Besides, umbrellas can be stylish too!
This pic is so sexy :) You look really gorgeous! And the trench, too, of course ;)
What a fantastic find! Those designer name trenches are so often hard to find, or like you said the wrong size. This post reminds me I really need to buy myself some rain boots; I have plenty of jackets (including an adorable red rain slicker!), but no rain boots. lol. Of course, I just wish that they still made galoshes to go over my pretty heels instead... ;) (Yes, I probably would be corny enough to wear those!)
