The coat

Photobucket

Oh hi, yeah, this is just my coat.

My awesome coat.

I got it at the antique expo last month, and while I searched it inside out five times, the Christian Dior tag seems to be missing. If anyone finds it laying around, let me know.

I wore it Saturday when Sam and I did a little shopping and sushi-ing on NW 23rd. We stopped by Goorin Brothers and I blushed a little when everyone in the store went gaga over it. But then we went to the M.A.C. store and I actually did buy blush, so it all worked out.

{I asked the makeup artist for blush, and she said "this one will make you look like you just stepped in from the cold. Or like Snow White.}

How did she know that's exactly what I wanted?

It's called "Pink Swoon" in case you're wondering.

I even met a blog reader on the street, she was nice enough to say hello and chat for a moment! To be honest, it never really hits me that more people read my blog than my mom and friends until someone I don't know says something in person.

I am oblivious.

But oblivious in a fabulous coat.

Oh my goodness! Dior or not, it is luscious – absolute perfection. I must have one in cranberry silk satin immediately. Or maybe a navy wool with a merlot lining . . . or both . . . one for everyday and one for an evening out. Congrats on a fabulous find!

that is one killer coat!!!! I'm all sorts of jealous of its mega-sexy-hotness. Are those rhinestones in the buttons?
I had a princess coat YEARS ago, 70s wool one with a hood that I adored but my bust got too big for it so i had to sell it. it was sad, sad times...kind of. I've been using new coats since then..they're not nearly as cute though.
Maybe its time I invest in a new (vintage) coat...well maybe next year, when i'm not huge and prego.

Stunning! Just... Wow! It's perfect for you! Love the skirt, the collar, the fastening... Also, out of curiosity: are the on-seam waistline buttons decorative or functional?

All I need or want in life is a princess coat. You look divine! My philosophy in life is every woman needs to own a great coat with which to throw over anything and look stunning.
I love the way these types of vintage coats accentuate the female form. But, every time I find one dealers charge outrageous prices, which would cost me an arm and a leg to buy one. Alas the wait continues.

It is a swoon inducing blush. The coat is lovely, but it's the perfect fit that makes it even better. And the Dior tag probably is at the dry cleaners...

Absolutely beautiful! It's always exciting to find a winter coat that still feels feminine and pretty and yours is just perfect. And as another pale-even-in-July girl, I loooove your blush. I've been using a Maybelline mousse blush, but I might have to check out the one you're using... so cute!

This is my favorite time of year. Time to get out all the cool vintage coats! I have a cool fur collar one I got at the Urban Eccentric, a faux fur full length with a big collar, and a brown plaid one that has a great belt. I love your coat!!! So fun to wear with petticoats I bet! :)

That blog reader was me! It was lovely to meet you in person, Solanah. My sister and I adored your coat; I spotted it a mile away, which is how I recognized you! Maybe our paths will cross again someday, since I have no plans of abandoning my love for vintage. 'Til then...

You look like Little Red Riding Hood to me, albeit in a black coat. :) Your coat seems to bring me back in the early days. Its elegance and classiness is a sure head-turner. I wouldn't wonder if people went gaga seeing it because it really is fabulous.
