Cool January day.
Winter is pretty mild here in the Northwest United States, and as much as you may hear it rains buckets all year long, it really just stays gray in the winter and as unpredictable as a drunk reality starlet the rest of the year. Most months you may wake up to the sun shining, birds chirping, and a nice warm temperature outside. So you dress for that and the moment you open your front door it seems that the sky has gone dark, the birds are gone, and a hefty wind is blowing a storm in from the coast, or wherever storms come from. So you change. And the weather changes too. And so on and so fourth until you just accept that you'll either look ridiculous wearing a wool jacket and leather boots in 65 degrees, or freezing in shorts and a cotton blouse.
But right now I'm enjoying the predictability of it being 45 degrees and overcast, which means, skirt, sweater, and coat. Just add accessories.

I love the petticoat too, lovely to see it peeking out underneath. Cool shoes too
I love that outfit.
In Virginia, fall was the opposite of that. It would be way too cold in the morning and then go up to 50. Such a tease you are, weather.
Ypu look so sweet! I love your skirt! How manny gores has it?
Such lovely shades of blue! I love you hair too, by the way.
The hair and the bow so wonderful!!!
your hair is so fantastic!
and dressing for unpredictable weather can be awful. Here in Montreal its predictable as all get out, but its absolutely freezing cold, so it doesn't seem any easier. your combo seems just right though!
I wear petticoats with everything, myself. Yours however takes the cake!!! You are so darling!!!
I was just commenting last night on how much I love the "winters" out here (I grew up in Michigan, uhg!).... This looks to be a perfect ensemble for the day! I adore the little details, and the profile photo with your bow is perfection!
What a lovely combination, and i love that petticoat x
Fantastic outfit! And your hair is just perfect. Wish it was mild here in freezing 'ol Canada!
I really love the peek of petticoat. :)
The petticoat is such a perfect touch! So cute. The skirt has such a beautiful line to it. I love the fabric. :)
The weather in Chicago is like that, too, which means I have mastered the art of layering.
I love this outfit, so casual-yet-classy and the colours are lovely. The bow and the shoes are fab.
Best,
Sarah Louise
so inspiring.. such beauty to behold.. so whimsical..in a word-lovely

Gorgeous!! I love the petticoat too!-very sweet! The weather there sounds just like the weather in Missouri. They have a saying here that if you dont like the weather, wait 5 minutes! :) http://vavoomvintage.blogspot.com/
Gorgeous outfit (and hair, and face!) as always.
We were blessed here in LA with a couple of weeks in the 50s and 60s (blessed, because I LOVE coats!), but other than that... the weather here is anything but unpredictable. "Rebecca, how's the weather there?" "You know how the weather is." "Sunny and in the 70's again?" "Yup."
What a wonderful petticoat! Just adorable!
It seems very tricky indeed to dress for the weather in northwest US! In northern Sweden it's fairly easy: if it's dark and minus 10 F / minus 25 C in the morning, it's going to stay that way most of the day... I really love the thick layer of snow, and the crisp, high, still air, but right now, a little bit warmer would be very nice =)
love the color palette of your outfit!
you are just getting prettier and prettier! i loved this outfit--it's so pretty and so creative but also completely casual. i'd like to shake your hand for making all of that happen in one (vintage!) outfit.
I am in love with this petticoat! I can only begin to imagine how giant your closet must be to hold all of your lovely clothing.
