California, day 2, kittens!

Today we did a little bit of shopping, and went to the farmers market in Solana Beach. The top photo might look a bit familiar, since I've taken a picture in the same place the last two times I've visited, in March, and in October 2008.
We got some good produce at the market, and since our place has a little kitchen we made dinner instead of going out and braving the mothers day crowd.
We stopped at The Antique Warehouse where I was hoping to find a red bakelite bangle, and I did! I've been obsessing more and more over bakelite bangles lately, but seeing how I've never paid over 50¢ for one (at garage sales of course), I was unsure about actually getting into them and collecting. But the bug bit me, and now I've turned into one of those people that wear them by the dozens. My grandma said "Good thing you got another one, you're elbow was showing!" Hehe, grandma is funny.
The second to last photo shows them closeup, the top row is the real deal, and the bottom is just plastic, see the difference?
And I nearly died when I saw that kitty pillow. Seriously, best pillow ever. I usually don't take pictures in antique stores, people get mad at me, but I had to sneak this one. If it wasn't $325 I would have bought it :)

I DID find (actually my mom did) the most darling kitten notebook, with an amusing title. Oh Korea, what were thinking when you made this?

And then there's a random red stagecoach. Just because I can.

I want to give a big thank you to Twila Jean for lending me her camera lense on my trip, as mine has decided to stop working. Without her we wouldn't have such nice pictures! Thank you Twila!

Dress-Grandma got it at an estate sale for me

I have never seen your wedding ring before.... it is gorgeous! Is it vintage/antique also? I want an antique ring for my 10 year anniversary from my hubby.... I am so jealous that you are in CA! I miss living there SO much!

I KNEW it had to be an Asian notebook haha- they always use weird English phrases (or things that don't even make sense or belong to the English language haha) Cool finds by the way!

Adorable dress! And of course there's a reason for taking a picture of a red stagecoat. It's there! =) The bangles are beautiful, and you're right, the difference is quite clear.
Ah, California food markets...
Have a nice vacation!

I just said Bakelite for the first time out loud, it sounds like a fake word. I love the bracelets

You just have to make a pillow like that yourself! It would be a very vintageish hobby.

Cool bangles - I have just started collecting them myself!
Cram Cream is actually the brand name! They have a shop that sells loads of it in Covent Garden, London. All of it is just like your notebook, lots of super cute patterns and prints :)

Ohhh! Such a lovely dress! Your photos are making me even more excited for my holiday to California next month.

I am currently a little obsessed with bakelite kitchen utensils. I just picked up an awesome cake breaker! I had never thought about bangles though. So cute!

And that notebook is just darling. I went to a Cram Cream store in Japan and went nuts on the cuteness.

Looking great! Love the whimsy notebook.

It is funny how we all seem to go for similar things simultaneously sometimes - I know I am cleary being influenced here but I have been keeping my eyes peeled for bakelite too, it is the brooches in my case.

Lovely dress. you are one of the classiest ladies! I love all the photos of the eggs and such. They are beautiful. I have a lot of Korean made stationary and some of the things they put on them in English make you say, ". . I don't get it". or ". . WHAT??"

I'm LOVING the dress and bolero!! And I'm super jealous of your bakelite bangles - they're on my wishlist, but I'm yet to find one (especially for 50c - we don't have estate sales around where I'm from!)
