Perfect 1930s coat

Yesterday before my photoshoot with Fab Gabs, I was looking through the racks of clothes and saw this beauty. Before I knew it, the coat was wrapped around me and belted, I don't even remember taking it off the hanger and putting it on, one moment it was on the rack, the next it was on me.
Turns out the coat is from Julie's personal collection, which is no surprise as everything in her wardrobe is fantastic!
It's a perfect late 30s coat, just what I've been looking for, and the collar is the softest! It's like a constant hug.

Now I think a matching hat and muff would just be perfection for winter, don't you?

That coat is magnificent. And in such nice shape-- maybe it's just me, but it seems like pre-40s outerwear is rarer and often in poor condition. What a beautiful find!!!

You having this is pretty much the best thing that could happen to it. =) Hope you enjoy it for ten years and then some.

Oh my goodness--that coat is perfection! I just love the nubby texture of the wool and the large fur collar. So glamorous! I definitely say yes to the hat and muff idea--too cute! ;)

Wow - you look gorgeous! And the coat is just perfect, too. Have to add a pic or two to my inspiration folder. And I really adore muffs, too.

Fiona, aw thanks! I think I am going to search for a beaver fur one, I've found a few, but it's not quite cold enough for one yet :)

Dakota, yes, 30s coats in particular are near impossible to find, I think because people wore them out, or re-fashioned them or used them for scraps during the war when the style was out of fashion.

Apothecary, it's sheared beaver fur, soooooo soft!

ittybittybomb, I'm not sure, probably MAC in "Chili"
