Enchanted Corsets

Photobucket

I've decided this weekend is Sherlock Holmes weekend. Saturday we're observing Reichenbach day, and Sunday the second season of Sherlock premiers, I'm soooooo excited.

And in between will be a "let's see how many Jeremy Brett episodes I can watch in one sitting" marathon.

Quite a few...

So a few months ago I decided it was time to invest in a real, custom made, Victorian style corset. Thanks to some of you that have costume and corset expertise, it was recommended I find someone local, who could do one on one fittings and fancy things like that. I found Enchanted Corsets and everything seemed to just flow from there. Lisa Marie is the creator, and after she took about two dozen of my measurements, I knew my corset would be amazing. If you're in the Portland area and want a corset, give Lisa Marie a call, she know's her craft, and I know this is something I'll love for ages.

Of course a photoshoot was a must, so I teamed up with the photo genius Lisa, of Light and Shadow. She just makes people look fantastic. Her studio is in a Victorian house, perfect setting!

You have a really fantastic body for a corset. I´m happy that you found someone local. It really is better to have fittings.

The second series is fantastic, my Sunday nights simply didn't cut it when it finished. And I love Benedict Cumberbatch- we're watching him in Frankenstein in the summer so should give me a fix before series three starts!!!

Such a magnificent corset! My mum is a corset maker, so I usually get all the tests and mock ups, so my corset collection is quite large!

Thank you everyone!

To answer some questions, yes I'll do a tutorial on the hairstyle soon, and no it's not uncomfortable at all, when it's something custom made, it's fit to your body's unique shape.

You look amazing!! My favorite pictures are the ones of you reading the Sherlock Holmes book. I love your site & really want to dress like you. I am going to learn to swing dance & your clothing would be perfect for it. :) Thanks for giving me a dream site to visit.

Wow, these are absolutely fabulous shots! I love all your photos and outfits, really, but there's just a little sauciness to this shoot that takes them over the edge to amazing :)

Fabulous corset! I LOVE corsets, and would love to own one that is custom made for me. I'm sure it feels much better than those "off the shelves" ones.

You are so lucky!!! I was gigling throuout this whole post wishing I were you. Ever since I saw the new Titanic (ITV mini series, highly recommended) I have been wanting to where a corset and an outfit from the late 1800's or the early 1900's. I have even put "being a figurant in a costume drama" on my 100 things to do before you die list.
Lust, lust, lust
