Roadtrip {Rout 66 Signs}

Photobucket

Road trip has come to a close, but I wanted to share some old signage with you. We just don't see much of this type of novelty here, but along rout 66, old hotel and restaurant sings are either left to the elements (along with the buildings), or restored and appreciated. But mostly forgotten with time, which is a shame. So go out and see them before they're gone! This is just a small fraction of what we passes, you could spend weeks just hopping from town to town photographing signs, there are so many gems out there! Hope you enjoy!

Oh, I am simply drooling! Roadside Americana is my favorite kind of photography. I could look at it all day long.

Hope you had a lovely trip!

The signs were amazing. I would love to drive down on route 66 to see the abandoned hotels and diners, maybe peak around and take lots of photos.

Ahh! I have a bunch of R66 pictures because I lived in Kingman, AZ for a month last summer! I went from Ohio to Kingman, so I saw quite a bit of it. I hope you enjoyed your trip!

Love it! I hope you picked where to stay depending on how awesome the sign is. Bed bugs, service... those issues aren't important.

Reminds me of the movie "Cars"...

Seeing these amazing signs always makes me a bit sad at how homogenized roadtrips have gotten with everything being chains and such. Imagine how colorful and fun it must have been on Rt. 66 back in the day!!!

There is such a captivating, wonderfully iconic beauty to signs like this. They've shone (or at least looked down on) thousands of souls over the year, silent witnesses to the years and decades, and I can't help but think of the stories they must have, if only the could tell us.

Wishing you a stellar Tuesday,
♥ Jessica

The colors in these signs are fantastic! These pictures would make a neat display framed on a wall in a group ;-)

I'm always so tickled to see great old signs still around. Love this post! I think the Blue Spruce Lodge one wins hands down, in my book.

I just moved to a part of my city that grew up in the teens through the 50s and have seen some good ones. You're inspiring me to grab my camera when we're out and photograph them before they're gone!

I feel like you are taking me back in time only with a digital camera. I wish I could live your adventures. Thanks so much for sharing.

Man, these are all kinds of awesome, but the Blue Spruce is a step beyond that!

I live right off of old Route 66 outside of St. Louis, and there is a row of old motels that are just amazing (and still in use) but unfortunately are becoming more and more "iffy" with their clientele. I keep meaning to go take pictures before they either get bought out and razed, or sell off all their old signage.
