Last night Sam and I watched Sherlock Holmes, can you tell? This morning I realized I don't really have anything reminiscent of that look, so stole some of Sams clothes instead :)

I tried to make a hat work with the look, but it just wasn't happening. So hatless I am.

Vest, socks, and pocket handkerchief-Urban Eccentric Vintage

Pants-Part of a suit

Blouse-Camas Antiques

Shoes-Chie Mihara, from a yard sale

Gloves-Don't remember, cut the fingers off after the fingers wore through.

I loved the fashion in Sherlock Holmes! Unfortunately, I can't pull off the menswear-y look as well as you can! (I feel that with my pixie cut, I just end up looking like an actual boy. Maybe once I grow my hair out I can make it work.)

I'm also jealous that you can wear your husbands clothes! Will is wayyy taller than me, so it would never work, haha

Either way, you make it look absolutely adorable!

Just wondering what is the latest Sherlock Holmes or one of the oldies? I personally loved both. And the UK mini series last year as well...
I love the shoes, the colour is magnificent!

Oh you're wonderful! I love the few undone buttons at the bottom of the vest and your 'kerchief. Lovely :)

You know what I love about your outfits the most? That you can be a chamelion and go from super girly to menswear inspired with ease! Sherlock Holmes is always great stuff for inspiration, imho (or just because... we went on a SH binge last autumn and watched every episode of the tv series we could get on Netflix! lol.). Loving this look--especially those fingerless gloves!

I LOVE your outfit Solanah- so cute! And I adore the gloves with it- fantastic idea to cut the ends off ( just like that gorgeous blue pair you wore in another photo). :)

I thought of Sherlock Holmes right away! I love how you can wear menswear without being androgynous. No one would mistake you for a boy! I'm particularly in love with the shoes. :)

Love the look and your hair makes the outfit. Might try playing dress up in my husbands closet and see if I can get something similar.

Love, LOVE, L-O-V-E this! My hubby is a good 6 inches taller than me...hard to raid his closet. I'm jealous that you can! Menswear for women is such a big trend...This post totally shows that a girl can be vintage AND modern at the same time. You're too adorable.

You looks so cute! I love the green vest, you don't see that often. I wish I could steal my boyfriends clothes, but my ass is definitely too big for his pants haha.

Just lovely! I like the fingerless gloves idea, too; very jaunty. I have always shied away from men's wear in the past, but I'm finding it really inspiring this spring; must be all the pictures like these I keep seeing!

I've only recently found your wonderful blog. It took me a few visits but I did backtrack to the very beginning. Now I am so happy to see each new post.
Your hair is beautiful and so perfectly styled. I noticed since you changed the style of your bangs back in February, you look very much like my mother did in the '40s and '50s.
This is a great outfit and I must agree with many that the shoes are my favorite part.
Thank you so much for sharing your great photos.

Fabulous! I feel the only menswear I can get away with is suspenders and a skirt (which I rock quite often).

Sherlock Holmes 2 comes out in December! I loveeeeeeeeeeeee the movie so much. It's one of my favorites ever but then again I've seen over 60 RDJ films. . so go figure.

You look extremely amazing in this outfit!!!

have you seen the British T.V. show called Sherlock? It is set in more modern time but it is great. I only saw the first episode last night and plan on seeing the second and third ones tonight. . I don't think there are any others though.

Also. . .New Doctor Who comes out in only 52 more days!!!

Ooh gorgeous! I've been wondering how to get that victoriana style androgynous look into my own style recently - that waistcoat is SUCH a winner!
Thanks for posting.
