{What Katie Did} Stockings Giveaway!

Photobucket

A few weeks ago What Katie Did asked if I would review their stockings, and give ten pairs away to ten of you lovelies. They recently opened a shop in L.A. (I want to gooooo), which means domestic shipping for those of us who can't pop into the shop one afternoon.

I've wanted to try out their stockings for a while, so of course I said yes!

I picked out some basic, nude seamed stockings, and a gold metallic seamed pair. The first day I wore them was great, they aren't fully fashioned, and they stretch, which I don't usually wear, but it was actually nice for a change! I could kneel down and things from the bottom shelf without popping a rip in the knee, and the coverage was just right, not shiny (can't stand shiny).

All in all, if you're looking for a vintage look, without the restrictions and price tag of authentic fully fashioned stockings, I'd recommend trying these out.

Ooooooor.....

Enter this giveaway and try out a pair for free!!!!

There can be 10 winners (Yes! 10!) Simply follow this link and fill out the requested information. Anything from their Retro Seamed Hosiery collection qualifies for the giveaway.

The contest is open to international readers, and will run one week, closing on December 2nd.
After you enter the competition be sure to check out the What Katie Did Blog written by one of my favorite vintage bloggers, Aimee of Bright Young Twins

You look gorgeous! I just entered the giveaway....fingers crossed! I haven't tried What Katie Did yet, but have heard really great things about them!

{that kitty in the crinoline photo is seriously too cute to handle...how is he making that face?!?}

Oh boy, I entered, though I'm also itching to get down to the store myself while I'm in California! I'm awfully sick of cheap stockings that run right off the bat, so I guess it's time to invest in some good ones.
And oh how I adore this photo shoot... the robe and the tree are completely marvelous!!!

I'm loving the retro seamed tights, don't have a suspender belt that I can find anymore so tights tend to work better.

Gorgeous photos of you pretty lady!!

Hooray! You caught one of my favorite cat things of all time on film. Explanation: I adore when a cat just happens to sit around and suddenly their tounge is sticking out. I've tried my hardest to photograph my two cats (my cats passed away years ago) looking so adorable. I was never quick enough.

Just perfection, as always!

I've only recently discovered What Katie Did's coffee coloured retro seams, they are good for days that are too cold for my fully fashioned nylons, but not cold enough to break out the heavy duty cotton stockings.

Thanks for hosting this giveaway, I'm trying to very slowly build my collection of true vintage and faux-vintage items, so I would love a pair of these. :)

Love your glamorous pink Christmas tree, btw!

Hang the stockings, I want your robe!

I live in WA, too.

WKD stockings are great, I wear the simple basic ones and they are pretty hardwearing!
Please do enter me in the draw as well:)

So wish their shop wasn't halfway across the country, boo!

THAT is how stockings should be modeled (well at least around the holidays), perfect. :)

Yay I entered too! I always wear fully fashioned and get all agro when I put a ladder in a pair. Usually get all panicky that I won't ever be able to find any more so I buy up big on ebay and now I've got heaps of pairs! But you can always have more! ;-)

These are some of the loveliest pictures. I just adore all the pastel colors. That nude color stocking looks wonderful on you.

Not that I'll win, but hooray! Regardless, think I need to give these a try, anytime I bend down (like people do) I end up popping the knees of my vintage ones:(

A question - do they have real seams, or are they those weird fake ones (like, a darker line.)?

Thanks Solanah!

Amazing! Where did you get your pink Christmas tree!?! Please tell me somewhere near Portland, I need this to happen...although my husband already said no. He just doesn't understand how necessary this is.

Unknown said...

I am loving all the pink going on in this post! Stunning :)

Solanah said...

Lilliesandremains, the seam on the beige ones I got are super light, but you can get the contrast seams too. I like the subtle seams, I think you'd like them. I've snagged a few little spots, but they're just snags, no runs!

Ashley Sloan, I did get it in Portland, but at an antique shop! It's not vintage, but a tree that came out a few years ago. It was in a shabby chic type booth, so try looking in those types of places!
