I see a pattern...

 photo Pattern1_zps6bf8fd8a.jpg

Some of my biggest outfit inspirations come from fellow vintage bloggers. Whenever I feel in a "wearing the same thing over and over" rut, I look to them for something new. This week Annie Pancake and Johanna Ost  have especially caught my eye. Both girls mix patterns so well, and in unexpected ways. I know I'm not shy of color, but I always feel if I have a pattern a solid needs to go with it.

Not so.

Rather than standing at my closet door and eyeing an outfit, I'm starting to pull pieces, as silly as they seem together at first, they usually look so refreshing.

These patterns look perfect paired together! I think the geometric print paired with the more natural florals really works. Your sunglasses are pretty awesome too!

This outfit looks great, I never would have thought of putting the two items together but it works really well.

Those colors are fabulous together. I want every piece of that outfit!!! Your skirt is to die for! <3 <3
Mixing patterns is a good thing, though a challenge to get it to look right. You pulled it off fabulously!

Your hair looks so great! I keep seeing all of these beautiful shorter styles and I am so close to ready to chop mine...trouble is it has take me so long to get it this long, and lets face it I am not getting any younger. LOL dilemmas!

Love the outfit! I also have a quick question...do you have a favorite 'every day' lipstick? I've been looking for something...perhaps in a pink...that isn't too 'fake' looking but still adds a dash of color.

Thanks!

Such a great mix of patterns and I adore blue and brown together.

I love mixing patterns. There's a complexity to it that can be hard to pull off and sometimes I wind up looking like a maniac when I do it. But you look awesome and I love your skirt.

I can see how you've taken inspiration from Johanna -it looks great! That brown and turqoise suits you perfectly and the mix of gingham and that flowery/novelty print works super well. I love patterns, so I always appreciate seeing it combined in such good ways!
