Lilli Ann suit

So first off, what do you think of the set? I've been searching for a good, well lit place to take non-eventful outfit photos, and this place is warm and dry :) We just stared using professional lighting and everything for an Etsy shop at work, I'm loving playing with it!

This suit was given to me by my mother, after years of admiring it when she wore it. It's a lighter fabric, probably more like a cotton spring suit, but no matter! It's works for winter too :)

That hat reminds me of The Duchess only on a smaller scale ;) I think if I had one of her hats I might knock people over.

And of course, Mr. Beaumont was along for the ride today, I think he adds a bit of excitement to any outfit, no matter how prim and proper ;)

What a great color! And how nice of your mother to give you that set; it looks like it was made for you! I have a couple pieces of my mom's as well (mostly jewelry) and I love it to all to pieces. It's nice to think that you can hold onto these pieces and maybe someday pass them on to others.

Oh fantastic, how wonderful to have a mum who is into vintage too (and who is the same size as you, I dwarf my little mum!). The lighting is great there, I am really struggling with outfit shots at the moment with everything being so dark all the time x

Exciting is right- I'm so arachnaphobic I don't know if I'd even be able to wear a pin like that!

You look gorgeous as usual. I love that Lilli Ann suit - I also collect Lilli Ann, but am a bit restricted as I live in Australia so have to rely on buying online. As you would know, good Lilli Ann is very expensive. If you are interested, have a look at my navy Lilli Ann suit at my blog - its a bit similar to yours:
http://vintagesuburbia.blogspot.com/2010/10/french-inspired-lilli-ann-outfit.html. The jacket I am wearing was probably meant for someone taller as it doesn't sit 100% right on me but it is still fabulous. The way the jacket is sewn is amazing, such great structure and attention to detail (eg is weighting so it flares out a little). Thanks for all your great posts this year. You have really inspired me in my vintage fashion - particularly with wearing hats (which I am sooo into now!). I hope you have a lovely Christmas and look forward to seeing much more of you next year. Maria (aka Vintage Suburbia). PS The blue background is quite nice but I kind of like the 'eventful' backgrounds better! PS sorry for long comment but I rarely get time to comment so please excuse this extended version!!

That suit is stunning! So envious... Lilli Ann suits are so beautifully cut and always have the most interesting details. What a lovely gift from your mom! :) I just love it paired with the hat and spider brooch too--so whimsical!

I'm so envious! My house is severely lacking in well-lit places to take indoor pics. I'm buying a new house in a few months so I think I'll have to stake out my outfit post area as soon as we move in. Thank goodness for skylights! The pic of your brooch is stunning!!

Looks like a great location filled with lots of light indeed!!!
I'm checking out that etsy shop now. . .hope there are nice ones for small busted girls like me. I have such a hard time finding dresses that fit right for my measurements. :(

You look so stunning and glamourous with that lovely hat and all! That is so great that your family can pass those vintage outfits around too.

I almost bought a brooch like that recently - but I chickened out as I thought it might freak people out. Good for you for having the nerve!
