Day 3 and 4: Steps back in time

Photobucket
Wednesday morning we left a little pink motel in Limon Colorado and got back on the road...

Photobucket
and absolutely had to make a stop in Kansas to take pictures of Dorothy in her blue gingham playsuit and ruby slippers.

Photobucket
We arrived late at night in Branson Missouri...
Photobucket
...and the next day went to Dicks 5 and 10...
Photobucket
I went a little nutty there, because they had so much old stock stuff...
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Even their shopping baskets were original vintage...
Photobucket

Photobucket
...and their hair products, including the display for the hairnets.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Since it was over 100 degrees out, we went for a swim...
Photobucket

Photobucket
...ok, well I mostly was on my phone...
Photobucket
In the afternoon we went to The Titanic Exhibit...
Photobucket
Which unfortunately didn't allow pictures inside...
Photobucket
...but we got some outside the building...

Stay tuned for lots more trip fun!

Sweetie, I think you just gave me permission and guts to be pale (besides some freckles and unfortunate spider veins) and beautiful in a swimsuit! I just love it!

I work in Branson and read your blog religiously. I was so hoping you would come here and I'd "accidentally" run into you!! And yes, Dick's 5 & 10 is amazing.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Titanic! I've been to the traveling museum 5 times, but have yet to make it to Branson for the big one. It's on the Bucket List. Can you imagine walking down the grand staircase in a lovely Edwardian evening gown, on the most spectacular ship in the world?

Wow- we have a 5 & 10 (Sine's in Quakertown, PA) in our town that looks very much like that, with the model planes and everything. They even have the same baskets! Those old-time stores are the best!
