Exciting news! (Not of the baby variety)

And here is my first post as a full time blogger!

 Wheeeee!

I quit my job working at a local vintage store, and now you guys have me all to yourselves. I feel very fancy. Though it was hard to quit my job of nearly four years, it was sort of the reluctance of leaving that made me decide I had to let it go. Can't move forward if you don't let go!

So from now on I'm expecting to do about five posts a week, more giveaways, features, and hopefully show you more of my collection that doesn't usually make it on here. Ok, here we go!
  Photobucket
Today I tagged along with my mother and grandma to the Pendleton mill store for some Christmas presents. My favorite Pendleton wool scarf/shawl was a must. Instead of just belting it like I usually do, I folded it into a little bustle :)

Because bustles are cool.

This has kind of been my "go to" autumn outfit, which seems to change every year.

Big congratulations, lady!!! I can't wait to see what this new chapter in life brings--big things I'm positive. ;)

Love the outfit--especially that fuzzy hat! (Lately I've been gravitating towards anything shiny or fuzzy... ;) The way you folded the scarf into a bustle--that is genius!

You look absolutely stunning! I love this look because it looks and feels so comfy especially for fall. I also love the length of your hair! It looks great! xo

Wow! I was just thinking, "it's a shame Vixen Vintage doesn't update quite as often as I would like!", and now this! Congratulations, and best of luck with the transition.

And Pendleton! Being a fiber/fabric nerd, the name excites me. A trip to an outlet sounds so much fun, but a trip to a wool mill would be better! :)

Congratulations! Very brave of you. :)

I love this so much. I married into a Scottish clan, and every year in April, I try to wear my clan's tartan for National Tartan Day. Your outfit is an inspiration for sure!

This is wonderful - both your outfit and your new life as a full-time blogger! Congratulations! And I would love it if you in a future post would let us know how to support yourself as a blogger - I'm so curious, and as you can guess, envious!

Hausfrau said...

This is exciting news, indeed. I would be curious to hear in a few months how you decide to structure your time in such a way that you remain productive. Often when I don't have the outside pressure of having to appear at a certain place at a certain time, the hours just slip through my fingers and I end up not getting much accomplished. Good luck with transitioning to full-time blogging!

Gained quite a bit of weight, haven't you dear?
No matter, happens to the best of us! You're still cute and that outfit's a stunner!
So happy to see you'll be blogging with us more! :)

Yes, I've gained a few inches in my chest and hips, but my waist somehow stays 26". I have the hardest time finding things that fit my tiny waist and large bust, it's quite a problem!

What a gorgeous outfit and innovative use of the tartan "Bustle"! Congratulations on your leap into full time blogging!

Dani Beutell said...

Solanah, you are looking gorgeous as ever. Glad to see you don't let such a rude and backhanded compliment get to you.
This is such a creative look, I love that about your style!

Johanna Öst said...

Ehehehe at your comeback comment. You look beautiful of course!

Anonymous said...

I sincerely apologize for my comment: it was indeed rude and the remark about your weight was completely untrue. Your figure looks no different than it always has: absolutely gorgeous and extremely enviable. Your polite, good-natured response when you had every right to snark back is more evidence that you are as lovely inside as you are out.

Sometimes when big-mouthed fools like myself see a beautiful woman, said big mouths run trying to knock her off her place to make our very ugly selves feel better. It never works, but fools like to repeat the same actions over and over.

I apologize again for my nasty comment, fueled by nothing more my own jealousy and bad manners. I apologize also for soiling your beautiful blog with such a mean-spirited and rude remark.

Rebeccak said...

crazy stuff! Congratulations! Will there be an accompanying shop?

Victoria / Justice Pirate said...

You look like you should be doing a sword dance or something in that outfit. It's amazing. You look like a Highland princess!

Solanah said...

Thank you astridnevermore, I didn't expect that from you, and it's very good of you to apologize :) Thanks so much for coming forward, I appreciate it!
