Blue boxes and Easter Bunnies

{Photos by Ruth}

Today Ruth and I went to H&M and Forever 21 to shop for some clothes for an upcoming trip we're taking. She made out like a bandit, I walked away with gold bobby pins, and longing for some polka dot pants from J.Crew Ruth called "Pushing Daisies" pants. Yeah, that makes me want them even more.

We also saw the Easter Bunny, and got about as close to a Doctor Who Tardis as possible for two girls in Portland.

Just curious, but do you ever buy clothes that aren't vintage at this point? "Pushing Daisies" pants sound wonderful, Now I want to go watch that show for the millionth time ;)

Selectively. Mostly price and fit deter me from buying new clothing, and even then the items I like are vintage style in some way or another. The pants fit nicely (which was a change, I'm usually too curvy for modern pants), but the price was just too much. Hoping to catch them when they go on sale :)

Ugh, shopping for nice fitting pants is the worst! Good luck for them going on sale!

I was just in H&M this past weekend because I was dying to get myself some of their floral pants! Jerks had sold out. So I tried on another pair...and I just have to say, I hate pants! Especially the skinny variety. It totally felt like the pants were trying to strangle my legs. Better luck to you!

I love how you look with that petticoat! So fun!

I too was wondering if you bought anything that wasn't "vintage." Interesting to find out!

That is the perfect A-line petticoat! Glad I stumbled upon another petticoat-wearer :) Love your outfit!

Your outfits always make me happy! I finally got around to buying a petticoat from Doris Designs and oh my god. It's the most comfortable petticoat I have ever worn!

Such a great outfit, I love the colours, so spring-like. I particularly love the bunny too. Good find on the TARDIS, it's an almost match!

Every time I see a pic of you I think damn, I need more petticoats.

Beautiful skirt, although I have to admit that bunny is freaking me out a little.

I have the same problem :) My husband and kids always leave the mall with something and I never find anything! Fortunately, there's a goodwill right next door ;-)

I think it's so funny that vintage is cheap in America. In Europe it's the most expensive clothing you can find. It's not fair!!!

Wow! how cute you always look! you always look great in blue and yellow

Very cute outfit and lovely springtime-y colour combination. I am so tempted to treat myself to a Doris petticoat every time yours appears in a post - they look gorgeous.

And Irac, I agree - I mostly have to make do with vintage-style high street clothing as the price of real vintage in the UK has skyrocketed in the last couple of years.

Can you be any cuter?! I love visiting your blog because I'm always inspired by what you wear. You look perfect for Easter. Have a great holiday!

I pass by that little building all the time, but I never once thought of it as resembling the TARDIS! But you are quite right! It does!

Yellow and light blue that's really a very cute combination. I love when you wear petticoats. I only have a black one and it's not so soft but rather stiff and "noisy". Do you know what I mean?

This outfit is giving me life.

Love the blend of muted and more vibrant hues in this lovely, springtime perfect outfit. (You've got my pining, big time, for a grey petticoat of my own now.)

Wishing you and your loved ones an absolutely beautiful Easter weekend,
