Excellent Sunday

Photobucket

Sunday afternoon Sam and I took advantage of the sunny weather and wandered around Portland for a while. We went to Buffalo Exchange, and not only was my favorite employee working, but someone who reads my blog recognized me!

AND

Anyone remember the striped sweater with shoulder ruffles I posted about on Facebook a few months ago? It was on someone's blog, which of course I've lost the link to. I wanted it so bad, but it was an H&M sweater, not much chance of finding it months later. Well, I found it. What are the chances? And in my size. The style goddesses were with me.

Photos to come soon I'm sure!

We then walked to Pok Pok and had a fantastic lunch. And drinks. I really want more of that soup...

After that we walked to Xtabay, just so I could bask in the glory that is wall to wall perfect vintage. The real stuff, no digging through 90s dresses to get to the 40s novelty prints. They're just right there. Waiting for you.

Then we waked back to the Pok Pok whisky bar right across from the restaurant, and had drinks and dessert. And a pretty doggie wanted Sams food...

This skirt is something I wore for the first time. I found it in pieces at an estate sale, like the skirt and waistband had been separated, and never stitched back together. So I cut some inches off the top (it was awkwardly long), put on the waistband, and used the leftover piece to make a matching headscarf/turban.

All in all, I say excellent Sunday.

That really does seem like an especially terrific Sunday. I adore your skirt (the folk art inspired print is so endearingly sweet), as well as how you styled this whole outfit.

I've been meaning to mention that I also love how you routinely partner socks with heels/strappy shoes. It's a look that for some reason I'm rather intimidated by, but which I so want to try. Perhaps once spring finally (!) gets around to arriving here, I'll work up the courage to give that fun look a go of my own (fueled on by your lead).

Oh, the Hasbeens. Heaven!

H&M, how I love it. I so wish we it here in Aus. At the very least I wish they shipped to Aus. :(

Also, love the cat. *pat, pat, pat*

Did you post a picture of the whole outfit? If so, I can't see it. If not, no fair! I want to see the whole thing.

The print on the skirt is so cute, it's really funny!

A question: is that icecream on a sandwich? Why?

Super cute! That dog looks like my friend Matt's dog Veda, he lives in Portland. I wonder if he and Veda was at Pok Pok...Matt has a mohawk and a long goatee so he would obviously stand out in a crowd if you saw him.

So, this might be a little weird, but that's my head in the mirror reflection in the shot of the pink dress. :) I was in the store trying on dresses when you came in to take pictures. I heard you ask if you could take some pictures for your blog, so I made a mental note to look you up and am just now remembering! You have a really gorgeous blog and I'm glad I was able to track it down.
