Good ol' fashioned postcards

Photobucket

I picked these postcards up a few months ago at an antique shop, and they were so cute I couldn't help but take them home. I think they're from the 1940s, there's no writing on the back, someone must have collected them!

I think my favorite is the top postcard, though the little red shoes are hard to miss in the others!

These cards may find themselves politically incorrect in this day & age, but I love 'em! Just look how the women's legs seem to go on forever!

These put a smile on my face this morning. Thank you! My hubby would love these too, perhaps I should show them to him. Or maybe I shouldn't?! (I don't want to bring out too much Roger Sterling in him!)

Haha, but how does the third girls legs work? WHERE are they attached?

These are cute, in that sort of totally sexist way, lol. I love old postcards too. I have one from 1909 that I love-- it actually has a message and postage stamp, so I can date it. It has a couple sitting on top of a big piano kissing and says "try this on your piano." Makes me giggle, I wonder what the postman thought!

I love them! I think you're right about them being from the 1940's. There are some similar ones at my local historical society they were send by a sailor to his sweetheart during WWII. So cute!

ha ha cute! i love old postcards. i have a collection of some that my dad picked up when he lived in Colorado inthe 80s. he found some old ones from the 30 (with scenes from Estes Park and places like that) in an old building he rented. There were also some wonderful old photos. One of them was of a 30s well-to-do woman perched on a rock beside a lake in her cloche hat and darling outfit!

These are so great! They remind me of much sweeter versions of the seaside postcards you can still get here in the UK. A bit along the 'Carry On...' theme, but these feel classier :-)

Nothing like a lighthearted note - and delightful vintage one at that - to start the last weekend of April off with. Great yesteryear postcards, thanks for sharing these with us, sweet gal.

Oodles of hugs & cheerful weekend wishes,
Jessica

I always get a kick out of vintage or vintage inspired postcards and funny ads. Nice to see that people had a sense of humor even in those days. Thanks for sharing!
