The Edge of Love

I watched The Edge of Love about a year ago, having totally different expectations for it than what it was. To be blunt I didn't like the film, but it had great, realistic style inspiration. The only story aspect from the film I liked was the friendship between the two main characters, which reminded me of Twila Jean and myself, and of course, the way they dressed was quite similar to our style, if not something we aspire to.
In my last post a few people commented on how Twila and I looked like we were in The Edge of Love, which we took as a nice compliment, and I had to show this candid snapped of us when we arrived in Astoria the other day, it pretty much sums up our friendship: loads of giggles.

I begun watching the movie but found it so boring. Will try to watch the whole thing one day, just because of the lovely wardrobe

Oh! When I first glanced at that last photo I thought it was still Edge of Love! You're right about the movie - i watched it on fast forward, pausing it when a new frock came on scene.

This is too cute--that picture of you and Twila is so fun! :)

I have to say I didn't like The Edge of Love either as a film, but the costumes sure were fantastic. ;)

The film was quite depressing to watch quite a lot of the time, but I think there was still something beautiful about it. Maybe just the war-time setting, that always seems to make a story slightly more beautiful! :)

Love your blog and your style!!

I kind of liked the movie. It one of those ones that makes you remember that not all movies are supposed to be nice and have happy disney endings. Its also one of those films set during WW2 that dosnt focus primarily on the war. Its about the wierd relationships between the main charactors.
The costumes of course are fab, and your trip looks like fun. I wish we actually had four seasons in Australia. Its mostly just Hot, Brown, Some rain, green, cold, sort of back to brown. Autumn looks like fun.

Yeah, it's a pretty horrible film. But excellent clothes.

Awww, great last shot of you two : ) I actually loathe The Knightley and The Miller, they wreck movies for me. But stylistically I agree the movie is very romantic and nostalgic, which is a nice visual feast : )

You both look so cute :)
I must admit I felt the same about the film.
The clothes were the only thing that kept me watching :)

You two are so much cuter than them ;)

Must say though, the pleated skirt and those cuffed rainboots are pretty devine.
