Evergreen Air and Space Museum

Photobucket

Last week my brother, nephew and I went to The Evergreen Air and Space Museum. I think I had been when I was a little girl, but I can't remember. Either way, it was great! Especially amazing seeing The Spruce Goose, of Howard Hughes fame. It's GIANT. I could only get photos of fractions of it, so down there is a pic of me at it's nose. See? Giant.

We're not really flight or space enthusiasts, but enjoyed it nonetheless. I think besides The Spruce Goose, a 1928 passenger plane (with tufted leather seats) was my favorite. Must have been so terrifying exciting to ride a plane back then.

I wore my Aviation blouse from Jitterbuggin, which started a conversation with a really admirable woman named Rosemary. She liked my blouse and I liked her vest covered in pins and badges. She told me about them, and most are military from various family members. One was a photo of her first husband who survived Pearl Harbor, and ones from her second who survived Iwo Jima. Then she had many from her children and grandchildren who were/are in the military. Amazing woman! Most of her life spent waiting for someone to come home, I can't even imagine.

First of all, that lady's vest is indeed rad. Second, the Roseway Aviation blouse will be back in stock in all sizes at the end of August! Yay!!!

I'm not sure if you intentionally colour coordinated with this thoroughly terrific location or not, but I just love how your (beautiful) outfit echos some of the hues on the vintage planes and equipment.
