Hanky-Panky

I love handkerchiefs. So pretty and delicate. Something not used anymore, Sam calls them "Snot rags." Charming.
Anyway, somehow I've gathered quite a collection. While moving things around I've found little bunches of hankys I got at estate sales, and thrift shops. Today I found the most delicate white one with about three inches of highly detailed lace around the edges. A truly elegant lady must have carried it once, in her little purse. I cant decide if my favorite ones are the tissue thin laced ones or the colorful floral ones. Does anyone else carry a hanky in their purse?

Handkerchief lot....Pretty monogrammed handkerchief

Hankies are a must have for me! I often get funny looks when I pull my lace hankie out of my purse, but who cares! They look far more elegant than a paper tissue.

I carry a hanky with me everywhere I go. I have three for daily use, and then a great collection of vintage ones from my great-grandmother. Some still have the 'Made in Sweden' labels still attached! I don't dare use them, but they're lovely to decorate with.

I used hankies as a child all the time, my mum used to fold one up and push it up my sleeve. I still love them now but use them to sprinkle olbas oil on and put under my pillow if i have a cold. I like Mels idea over at country in the town, she has some lovely hankies that shes made into lavender hearts. x

I always carry hankies. LOTS of them (always prepared for hayfever and much easier on skin than tissues).

I have a bit of a soft spot for children's hankies - with colourful patterns and drawings on them.

How fun! :) I've been slowly buying old hankies as I find ones that catch my fancy, but have yet to use them (I think I'm too scared of ruining the pretty patterns and colors over time!). They are so pretty to look at though... :)

I feel naked if I leave home without mine.

I went to a weird vintage superstore thing in Laramie, Wyoming and found some cute hankies for around a dollar (per set). I put one in each purse so I always have one with me! I recently gave some for a birthday gift. Trying to bring the hanky back. :)
